I view every day in the classroom as an opportunity to re-engage and motivate my students. To this end, I endeavor to incorporate multiple teaching modalities in my classes in order to best accommodate the learning style of my students. My belief is that the old, "lecture-only" format quickly destroys student engagement and the spirit of learning that is the cornerstone of my pedagogy. Thus, I change the delivery of information frequently with lectures that are punctuated by a combination of video lessons, hands-on team exercises, case studies and guest speakers from the hospitality industry. My goal as an educator is equip my students with the skills that they will need to succeed in their careers by fostering an environment that encourages inquiry and exploration
